Gunnery Sergeant Crystal A. Van Dalinda

Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda enlisted in the Marine Corps July of 2008 where she attended Recruit Training at MCSRD Parris Island.  She graduated honor guide and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal upon completion of Recruit Training.   At the conclusion of Marine Combat Training and Communication Signals Collection Processing Course (CSCPC) she reported to 1st Radio Battalion Camp Pendleton, CA with the MOS of 2621 April 2009. 

While stationed at 1st Radio Bn she trained as a Collection Operator on a Signals Support Team (SST). August 2010 Corporal Van Dalinda was selected to deploy on the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as a Digital Network Intelligence/Geospatial Metadata Analyst (DNI/GMA).  She deployed with the 13th MEU February 2011 to September 2011. While deployed she supported operations aboard USS Boxer and Camp Lemonnier Djibouti, achieved her MCMAP black belt and was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant.  November 2011 Sergeant Van Dalinda returned to 1st Radio Bn as a GMA instructor and Platoon Sergeant.  

June 2012 Sergeant Van Dalinda was selected for 1st Radio Bn’s first, Request for Forces supporting Joint Task Force (JTF) as a SIGINT Systems Operator in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Afghanistan.  From January 2013 to September 2013, she deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF. Sergeant Van Dalinda performed standard flight operations, one search and rescue mission, over thirty-night operations, and one day operation. While performing flight operations Sergeant Van Dalinda was selected as the Training Manager, Mission Manager and a Tactical Systems Instructor for Joint Task Force.   

December 2013 Sergeant Van Dalinda reported to Corry Station Center for Information Dominance, FL.   Here she served as a CSCPC instructor and Platoon Sergeant.  While stationed in Florida she was promoted to Staff Sergeant and had the privilege of leading 318 entry and lateral move Marines. Staff Sergeant Van Dalinda instructed 1,276 hours for CSCPC classes: 14330, 14150, 15140, and 15285. Totaling in 39 Marines and 24 Sailors trained in the CSCPC Military Occupational Specialty.  

November 2015 Staff Sergeant Van Dalinda reported to Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB) where she worked as an Access Analyst.  There she provided timely and accurate tactical SIGINT in support of National and Local Intelligence Community Requirements to over 180 SIGINT collection platforms daily. In support of almost two dozen remote (manned and unmanned) SIGINT collection field sites worldwide. July 2016 to August 2016 she deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, Iraq. Upon returning Staff Sergeant Van Dalinda was selected for promotion to Gunnery Sergeant.  She was also selected as the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC) and lead access analyst of the Remote Operations & Access Management (ROAM) office. Directly supporting world-wide-deployed field elements to provide tactical and strategic Intelligence to field sites within the Intelligence Community.  

December 2018 Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda concluded her Active Duty service and joined the Reserve Component.  January 2019, she joined the MCSB Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Detachment where she continued her service as an Access Analyst and served as the SNCOIC of MCSB IMA Section East.  November 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda constructed the MCSB IMA Detachment onboarding program educating new Marines on Reserve component nuances.  October 22 Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda was selected as the MCSB IMA Operations Chief where she assisted in the developing of the MCSB Bn IMA policy, developed unit standard operating procedures, and ensured all fiscal and calendar year training requirements were met by detachment members.  As of October 2024, Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda serves as the MCSB IMA Senior Enlisted Advisor.  

Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Child and Family Development with a minor in Intelligence Studies from American Military University in 2017.  She began federal contracting as a Target Digital Networks Analyst in 2019 and now a Digital Network Exploitation Analyst. 

Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda and her husband live in Maryland with their three children. 

Gunnery Sergeant Van Dalinda personal awards include 8 – Air Medal-Strike/Flight Medals, The Joint Service Commendation Medal, The Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and The Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
