Major Kenneth C Huxtable
Major Huxtable graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and commissioned in March 2012 after completing Officer Candidates School. Upon completing The Basic School, Second Lieutenant Huxtable attended and graduated from the Infantry Officer’s Course and Scout Sniper Unit Leader’s Course in Quantico, Virginia and the Ground Intelligence Officer’s Course in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Having earned the 0203 Military Occupational Specialty, he reported to 2d Battalion, 1st Marines in Camp Pendleton, California in January 2014 to serve as the Assistant Battalion Intelligence Officer. In July 2014 he deployed on the USS Makin Island as part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) where he supported training, Theatre Security Cooperation missions, and Special Operations Command missions in Malaysia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Djibouti.
After returning from the 11th MEU, First Lieutenant Huxtable served as the interim Battalion Intelligence Officer before transitioning into the Scout Sniper Platoon Commander billet. He held this billet for the 13th MEU deployment from February to September 2016 aboard the USS Boxer during which his platoon supported missions across the range of military operations in
Korea, Qatar, the U.A.E., Djibouti, the Straits of Hormuz, and on four US Navy ships off the Horn of Africa.
In October 2016 Captain Huxtable checked into the Marine Detachment - Dam Neck, Marine Corps Intelligence Schools in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Here, he served as an instructor and Course Director for the Ground Intelligence Officer’s Course and an instructor in the Tactical Intelligence Officer’s Course. From June 2017 to January 2019 he commanded the Basic Training Company which trained all 0231 and 0261 accession Marines.
Captain Huxtable checked into 2d Marine Raider Support Battalion in January 2020 and served as an Officer-in-Charge for an intelligence Direct Support Team attached to Marine Special Operations Company – India. While attached, he deployed to the southern Philippines, served as the J23 for the Special Operations Task Force, and directed and coordinated multi-disciplined intelligence operations throughout the country. Upon return, Major Huxtable was assigned as the Deputy Intelligence Operations Officer for MARFORSOC Headquarters. He led section planning efforts for future MARSOC intelligence manning, training, equipping, and employment options while managing the day-to-day operations of the section.
In June 2022, Major Huxtable checked into Company H, MCSB where he currently serves as the Commanding Officer.
Major Huxtable’s civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in History and a Certificate in American Indian Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (2011). He is an Expeditionary Warfare School distinguished graduate and his personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals. He is married to Diane Huxtable, has two children, and enjoys the mountains, backpacking, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
