Company Commander
Major Thomas N. Wilcox

Major Wilcox currently serves as the Company Commander of Company A, Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion, Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado. He has performed in this capacity since May 2025. 

Major Wilcox was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 3, 1987. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on August 8, 2005 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego from August 2005 to November 2005. Following graduation, he attended Marine Combat Training and subsequent Military Operational Specialty School at Corry Station, Florida from December 2005 to March 2006. Post-graduation, he was designated a 2621 Special Communications Collections Analyst. Following this, Private First Class Wilcox attended the Basic Morse and Advanced Morse Operators Course, graduating as a Morse Code Analyst and Operator in September 2006. Upon graduation, Lance Corporal Wilcox received orders to Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion, India Company, Hawaii. During his time at MCSB, Co I, Lance Corporal Wilcox operated as a Morse code operator until his assignment to 2nd Intelligence Battalion, Camp Lejeune in July 2007. Corporal Wilcox deployed with 2nd Intelligence Battalion from September 2007 through April 2008 to Iraq as an intelligence analyst and unmanned aerial vehicle analyst. 

Sergeant Wilcox completed his five-year enlistment on August 8, 2010 and exited the Marine Corps to attend college from August 2010 to May 2014. He attended college at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota where he earned his bachelors in cellular and molecular biology. Upon graduation, he then began the process to seek a commission in the United States Marine Corps. Second Lieutenant Wilcox commissioned in August 2015 after graduating from the Officer Candidate School and subsequently attended The Basic School from August 2015 to March 2016, with Fox Company.  In August 2016 he attended the Signals Intelligence Officer Course in Virginia Beach, Virginia and graduated in December 2016.  Upon graduation, Second Lieutenant Wilcox was assigned to 1st Radio Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. He served as the 11 Marine Expeditionary Unit Platoon Commander and Alpha Company Executive Officer from January 2017 until March 2019. During this time, he conducted multiple Battalion, Division, and Marine Expeditionary Force level exercises. He also served as the Future Operations Officer from March 2019 to May 2019. Utilizing his experience in the Signals Intelligence MOS, he assisted in the identification, development, and implementation of a new Signals Intelligence team, known as an Electronic Warfare Support Team.  

First Lieutenant Wilcox then executed orders to attend the Marine Air Ground Task Force Intelligence Officers Course from May 2019 to July 2019. Upon graduation from the course, First Lieutenant Wilcox reported to 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.  After completing the Series Commander Course, he was assigned as a Series Commander for Lead Series, Company B. Captain Wilcox completed two full cycles and a partial cycle as a Series Commander from August 2019 through May 2020. In June of 2020, Captain Wilcox was selected to take company command of Company D, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.  Captain Wilcox completed three recruit training cycles as the company commander of Company D from June 2020 through May 2021. Upon completion of his final recruit training cycle, Captain Wilcox was selected to take company command of Headquarters Company while simultaneously serving as the Operations Officer, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. He assumed command June 2021 and completed his tour with 1st Recruit Training Battalion in June 2022.  

Following completion of his tour with MCRD Parris Island, Captain Wilcox was assigned to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) and reported in July 2022. Captain Wilcox was assigned as the MCIA Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Division (ISRD) Deputy upon arrival. His duties included service level support across MCIAs Cryptologic Support Group (CSG), Full Motion Video Production, Exploitation, and Dissemination (FMV-PED) Branch, Identity Intelligence (I2) Branch, and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Branch. While serving in this capacity, Captain Wilcox identified service level deficiencies and areas of improvement, resulting in the authoring of the Marine Corps OSINT Order and new agreements with MCIA FMV PED and I2 with the Office of Naval Intelligence and United States Africa Command. After 18 months as the ISRD Deputy, Captain Wilcox was selected for deployment in support of Joint Task Force (JTF) 94.7, Special Operations Command. Captain Wilcox conducted this tour from January 2024 through July 2024 and acted as the JTF Special Operations and FVEY Team Lead (Gold Team) supporting Operation Gallant Phoenix. Upon his return from deployment, Captain Wilcox was assigned as the Operations Planning Division Deputy for MCIA and continues to serve in this capacity. Captain Wilcox was selected for promotion to Major in September 2024.

Duty assignments to MCSB Co I, 1st Radio Bn, 2nd Intelligence Bn, 1st RTBn MCRD PI, Marine Corps Intelligence Agency, and Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion.          

Major Wilcox is married to the former Courtney Colgrove and lives in Fredericksburg, VA, with their daughter Elaina and son Logan
